JOY PANDEMIC

 In June of 2010 I followed my “Hearts” suggestion to go to Berkeley, California to market the unique computer art that I’ve created for 20 years.  Since I was homeless I spent my days hanging out with the kids who were asking people for spare change.  Instead of asking for money I asked for “spare smiles”.  I found I got an amazing response to my requests receiving 100 smiles in an afternoon.  It was at this point my “Heart” suggested that I should “Save the world with a smile”.  I found myself waking up smiling every morning and going to sleep every night with a smile on my face ( I noticed I was sharing it with everyone all day long too) Over the next few months JOY PANDEMIC was born.  JOY PANDEMIC gets its name from the fact that “disease” words are used for happiness.  Smiles are “infectious”, joy is “contagious” and I decided the biggest “infection” I could cause would be a pandemic.  A smile that wrapped around the world.  To that end I got a face book page and before long JOY PANDEMIC had become a worldwide movement. Also during that time I found myself in jail in Oregon for absconding. The judge gave me 18 months of felony probation the terms of which were that I keep traveling around the country spreading JOY PANDEMIC and that the only “checking in” that was required was for me to send him a smile on the web. JOY Pandemics goal was achieved on 12 21 12 when the “world” did not in fact end…we got a chance to continue and I have found out since that we received help from…elsewhere. Now that we have received our second chance it is the job nay the DUTY of ALL of us to MAKE our world a better more spiritually tolerant HAPPIER reality for ALL…acknowledge each other as part of your extended family of humanity…we r all uniqual…like snowflakes…no 2 are the same in appearance yet they are all just frozen drops of water so they are exactly the same…each one of you needs to actively take part in changing our world and together as ONE human race we shall succeed. JOY PANDEMIC is now truly becoming just that, a PANDEMIC. We now have touched others with our desire on every continent on our beloved, beautiful planet and many countries on those continents…everybody knows that they like what smiling does so lets do MORE OF IT…%)

Our Work

We work together to make our cause known, to reach out to other groups who share our vision. Whether you’re ready to lend a hand at one of our activities or have photos or articles to share about a recent event, here’s the place to do it. I am Gandalf O’Daugherty and I’m the founder of  JOY PANDEMIC...We achieved our first goal on 12 21 12...now we are hosting 2 things...first is the ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SMILE DAY on oct. 3rd..and 2nd and actually more important because it IS JOY PANDEMIC is the ETERNAL MULTIVERSAL SMILE NOW...broken down -ETERNAL=always happening... MULTIVERSAL= wherever you are, you’re there...SMILE NOW= self explanatory...how it works is like this...if someone is coming towards you on the street, in a store...wherever...if they aren't smiling, give them one...infect them with JOY... Presently we are working on a few projects that are in need of people who have skills in these areas... We are working towards starting a petition to get INTERNATIONAL SMILE DAY made a national holiday…we are working to become a non profit to pay for cleft palate operations for children around the world and we are attempting to organize JOYFEST-EAR TO EAR festivals in as many regions and countries as possible…if you think this might be something you could get behind let me know and THANK YOU for your friendship…%)
